Thing #18 Social Networks

I have a My Space account. I set it up a long time ago so I could check on my teenage son's MySpace. I never really did anything with my page until today. I am excited about using it now! I added several friends--some that I teach with. I love being able to share pictures and keep in touch. I am in the process of trying to find old friends from high school and college. Now I need to make my page cute! Come be my friend. Being familiar with MySpace and Facebook gives us insight on the language of our students today. I hear them talking about these social networks all of the time. I really do not see how these can be used in the educational setting. They are not able to be accessed at school right now.
